My Laptop is Producing Some Funny Noise

A laptop that is producing funny unexpected noise would be due to a number of considerable reasons. A failing computer may produce such noise. If you accidentally dropped your laptop, this would also be expected.
Computer users or owners should understand that laptops are some of the advancements in computing technology today. The portability feature of laptops is meant to make mobile and easier to carry to meeting places with ease. In deed laptops have brought some significant impact in the world and has a great deal contributed to global village hence laptops should be handled with a lot of care because they are fragile and could easily be dropped down. This portability and compatibility at some point turns to be a nightmare to some users.
In a laptop we have a hard drive that acts as the main “storage” device of the computer. A computer hard drive is fragile and in it there are even more fragile components.
The hard drive has platters just similar to the normal (data) compact disks but in this case they have been arranged in a unique way such that one is above the other. Each platter has a read write head that is designed in such a way that they are close to the surface of the platter but not touching the platter. The read/write head is usually held in position by the actuator. The actuator also manages the movement of the read/write head to and from the center of each platter.
When you drop your laptop, due to the force impacted on the hard drive, the actuator may break and let the read/write head sag. As the platters spin, the head may end up touching their surface. This may destroy the platters and lead to data loss. Therefore, when your computer starts producing such unfamiliar noise, you should be cautioned because in most cases this is usually a typical sign hard drive failure.
